How to connect to Fortinet VPN client and RDP in Fedora

Installing Fortinet VPN Client.

Open the Terminal and download the Fortinet VPN client package using the following command.

 wget https://filestore.fortinet.com/forticlient/downloads/forticlient_vpn_7.4.3.1736_x86_64.rpm

Once the download is complete, install the package using.

sudo yum install forticlient_vpn_7.4.3.1736_x86_64.rpm

After installation, open the FortiClient application and Click on Configure VPN.

Select SSL-VPN and enter your VPN credentials as shown below example and Click Save.

Then enter your VPN password and click on Connect.

Connecting to Remote Desktop (RDP).

Fedora 41 comes with a built-in RDP client named Connections.

Ensure your Fortinet VPN connection is active before proceeding and open the Connections application and click the “+” icon on the left topbar.

Enter your RDP server’s IP address and port number, then click Connect.

When prompted, provide your username, password, and domain, then click Authenticate.

You should now be successfully connected to your remote Windows desktop via RDP.
