How to Shrink the log file (.ldf) in SQL Server Management Studio

  1. To shrink the log in SQL Server Management Studio, right-click on the intended database, then choose Tasks >  Shrink > Files -

  2. On the Shrink File window, change the File Type to Log. Then click the OK button.
