Retrieve email header in MS Outlook and Outlook Express

The email header, containing details about the sender, route, receiver,date and time of sending or receiving the mail etc. Using the e-mail header one can identify the sender or his mail server's existence, either the mail is SPAM or not and other various issues.

Microsoft Outlook 2016




1. Start Outlook.

2. Double-click the message for which you want to view full internet headers.

3. Open the mail and select file.
 


4. Select Info then Properties.


5. The Message Options dialog box is displayed. The internet headers are shown in the Internet headers field at the bottom of the dialog box.



Microsoft Outlook 2013

1. Start Outlook.

2. Double-click the message for which you want to view full internet headers.

3. Open the mail and select file.
 



4. Select Info then Properties.

5. The Message Options dialog box is displayed. The internet headers are shown in the Internet headers field at the bottom of the dialog box.



Microsoft Outlook 2010

To view the e-mail header at first double click on the mail.     



Now click on File then select Info and after that click on Properties.

 Properties box will appear. At the bottom of the box you will find the e-mail header.


Outlook Express

To check the e-mail header for an e-mail select the e-mail and  Right click over it and select properties.



 

Now click on Details.
